The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) - October 4-6, 2006 at New Delhi

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) is organizing an International Congress and Exposition on Trade in Services on October 4-6, 2006 at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. The event is supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. The aim of the Congress is to create a platform for all stakeholders to come together to evolve business partnerships to create a better understanding amongst countries, to foster relationships and networking between the various stakeholders, to explore convergence and synergies and to project India as a hub for the services sector.

This international event aims at the promotion of trade through various interactive business meets and workshops and holding of a Plenary and parallel Technical Sessions in collaboration with the nodal Government of India ministries representing education, health, science & technology, travel & tourism and consultancy, all of which are co-partners of the event. UNCTAD is FIEO�s key partner for advising and coordinating the Technical Sessions given that most of these sessions have a bearing on WTO provisions and agreements.

The services sector has grown across the world and contributed immensely towards the GDP of countries. Many countries have made noteworthy achievements in specific service sectors. The United Kingdom could in particular be an important partner country in this event. Invitees from United Kingdom could cover the whole spectrum of stakeholders viz. service sector business enterprises, associations of service business providers, academics, researchers, policy makers, special subject expert institutions, etc.
